Joyce A. Lonergan to Head SR One

PHILADELPHIA, PA, February 8, 2007 -- Joyce A. Lonergan has been appointed Managing Partner and President, SR One Ltd, GSK’s independent healthcare venture capital fund, effective immediately.
Lonergan succeeds Adrian Rawcliffe, who was recently named Senior Vice President, Worldwide Business Development, at GSK. Lonergan has been with SR One since 2005.
“Joyce brings a wealth of experience to this role,” said Moncef Slaoui, Chairman, GSK Research & Development. “Her capabilities and leadership complement the team and positions SR One to continue its strategic investment mission."
Lonergan brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare to this position, with roles in corporate development, investor relations, corporate communications, venture capital and Wall Street research at Chiron, Cowen & Company and Caxton Healthcare Venture Management. She serves on the board of Locus Pharmaceuticals and Novalar Pharmaceuticals., Inc. and is an observer on the board of Hypnion, MicroMass Communications, Inc., Rib-X Pharmaceuticals, and Zelos Therapeutics, Inc.
She holds a BS in biology from Emmanuel College and an MBA from Simmons College Graduate School of Management.
